Gates of the Arctic National Park and Preserve is the farthest north park in the nation. It is also extremely remote, rugged, and huge in size holding the position as the second largest national park. Many wild and scenic rivers flow out of its mountains, including the John, Nigu, Alatna, Kobuk, Koyukuk and many other rivers.
