The Chugach National Forest is a 5.4 million acre temperate rainforest located in southcentral Alaska. It envelopes Prince William Sound and is bordered to the north by the rugged and steep Chugach Mountains. Although access is limited, many people enjoy exploring the region via boat, kayaks, and hiking.
